Guidelines for authors


Contribution submitted for publication in L'Homme. Z. F. G. should reflect the current state of research in women’s and gender history and are subject to a rigorous peer review process (double blind).

After selection by the editors, the anonymised contributions are reviewed by two experts, also anonymous. The review process takes about two months. For the duration of this period, the submission of a text to the editorial office implies a binding intention to publish it exclusively in L'Homme. Z. F. G.

Unsolicited reviews will not be accepted. Reviews are allocated by the editorial team.

Length of contributions (including footnotes and spaces):

- Essays (main articles, L'Homme Extra): 30,000 - max. 50,000 characters
- Reports and commentaries/news: 9,000-18,000 characters
- From the archives: 10,000-12,000 characters
- Reviews: 7,000-9,000 characters
- Abstracts: 800-1,300 characters

We regret to inform you that no compensation can be paid for articles and reviews published in L'Homme. Z.F.G.
